So my journey began three years ago this coming July. You see, I quit chewing on July 10, 2010 after 27 years. I told myself I could eat and drink whatever I wanted for one year. I didn't feel like i was strong enough to battle the temptation of quitting chewing and be strict with my diet at the same time. I didn't want to fail in my to goal to quit chewing. I promised myself that after one year of not chewing that I would get in the best shape of my life and completely change my diet for the sake of my health and appearance. July 12, 2011 I started my diet. I had gotten to a record weight of 228 + pounds. My pants were a 35+ waist line. I was FAT, and very embarrassed. I didn't even want my wife to see me without my shirt on. I started a diet and lost about 40 pounds in 6 months, I was feeling better and a little more confident. However, I hit a plateau and started the roller coaster ride of ups and downs that lasted for about 7 months. I was feeling better than before my diet but I was no where near where I wanted to be. My family joined our local gym P.A.C. (Prineville Athletic Club) in August 2012 and we started working out 3-4 days a week but weren't getting much results. I stepped into our local Max Muscle Store in Bend Oregon the beginning of Sept. and met Tony COllins. I told him my story and he told me about the Essential 6. Sounded interesting but wanted discuss with my wife We discussed what I had learned from Tony, ( I am sure I screwed that up) and am sure I confused her. The following week we went back to the Max Muscle store met Tony again. He went through the whole thing again and we decided to give it a shot! I was a little skeptical but my wife was searching for something different as well so we said Lets do this! She had been struggling with her weight as well. If we did this together and held each other accountable our success opportunity would increase. I started seeing results almost immediately and felt better than I had in years. After a few months my wife joined the 2013 Max Formation Challenge. We were able to find an amazing personal trainer (Victoria Adelus) and nutritionalist (Josh Field). They are both amazing and have helped Kristieb along her journey. I have never worked out with a personal trainer before and was able to work out with Josh one evening. It was amazing! I didn't know I could be pushed so far and love it so much. He mentioned a couple of times that I should get on stage. I was like "ya, whatever, not this guy" A few days later I kept finding myself thinking about working out more and finding something I could shoot for. Another goal to try to achieve. I wanted to do more. Needing a date or goal to reach, I spoke to Dom (owner of Bend Max Muscle) and he told me about the local Max Muscle Challenge. He said it would be good for me to try to bulk up and drop body fat. So my new goal is for my wife Kristieb and I to win 1st and 2nd in the local max muscle challenge, and try a couples competition later on. I am going to get on stage and compete on October 19, 2013. I am going to be in the best shape of my life at 42. I feel like i have the best team of support and help ever. I will succeed in making my second goal. LETS DO THIS!
